Khao Lak: Phang Nga Bay, James Bond Island & Sea Canoe Day Trip
A full day in Phang Nga Bay from Khao Lak: longtail boat through mangroves, James Bond Island, a guided canoe into sea caves, lunch at Koh Panyee stilt village and a cave temple on the way home.
Phang Nga Bay is a maze of limestone islands rising straight out of green water, and this day trip from Khao Lak takes you through it by longtail boat and canoe.
After an early hotel pickup, you board a longtail boat and wind through mangrove channels into the bay. You stop at Khao Phing Kan, known as James Bond Island after the 1974 film, with the Ko Tapu rock spire just offshore. A local paddler then takes you by canoe into sea caves and hidden lagoons, followed by time on a quiet beach for a swim.
Lunch is at Koh Panyee, a Muslim fishing village built on stilts over the water. On the drive back you visit Wat Suwan Khuha, a cave temple with a large reclining Buddha.
Drinking water, lunch, the canoe trip, temple fee and hotel transfers are included.
