Spend a day in the rainforest of Khao Sok with a local guide who grew up in the area. You walk forest trails in search of the Rafflesia, one of the largest flowers in the world, which opens for only a few days at a time during the November–April season. Sightings depend on blooming and are not guaranteed.

Along the way your guide points out plants, insects and birds and explains how local families have used the forest for generations. Macaques, langurs and hornbills may be seen; larger animals are rarely encountered.

At midday you stop for a picnic lunch that you help prepare in the forest, then continue on the jungle trails before the transfer back to your hotel.
